Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m wishing for green today! Out here in Iowa, green grass would be nice
, and actually it is a very nice day after all those cold winter days….and I really am Irish (50% anyway). My mother was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland and I still have many cousins, aunts and uncles there. We correspond often, but mostly by email. It is my life’s dream to go visit, but hasn’t happened yet.
If you’re making a friend a St. Patrick’s Day card today, here are a few beautiful Irish blessing that you might want to add as a message, now or for any time they need a pick-me up:
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
*****************
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
brightened by a song in your heart,
and warmed by the smiles
of the people you love.
******************
Wishing you always…
Walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain
And tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire.
******************
and I have to throw in a little irish humor too
May the frost never afflict your spuds.
May the leaves of your cabbage always be free from worms.
May the crows never pick your haystack.
If you inherit a donkey, may she be in foal.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
